D. Gray-Man

D. Gray-man is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Katsura Hoshino. The series tells the story of Allen Walker, a young exorcist who joins the Black Order—an organization of exorcists who destroy Akuma, beings created from the souls of the dead that seek to destroy all life. Hoshino began working on the series in 2004 and it was first published in 2004 in Japan. The individual chapters have been collected into 27 tankōbon volumes by Shueisha as of November 2012. In English, the series has been licensed by Viz Media, with the first volume released in 2006.

The manga has been adapted into a 103-episode anime series by TMS Entertainment which aired in Japan on TV Tokyo from October 2006 to September 2008. Funimation has licensed the series for an English release and released the first 52 episodes across six DVDs from March 31, 2009 to November 24, 2009. The series is currently being broadcast on the Funimation Channel in the United States. A second anime series, D. Gray-Man Hallow, was broadcast on TV Tokyo from July 4, 2016 to September 26, 2016.

The D. Gray-man anime tells the story of a young man named Allen Walker who joins an organization called the Black Order. The Black Order is made up of people with special abilities who fight against an organization called the Millennium Earl. The Millennium Earl wants to create an army of Akuma, which are people who have been turned into monsters. Allen has the ability to see Akuma, and he uses this ability to help the Black Order fight against the Millennium Earl.
