In the year 2006, a portal to another world opened in the middle of Tokyo’s Ginza district. Through this portal, giant beasts known as “gates” emerged and began attacking the city. The Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JSDF) was quickly mobilized to fight these gates and repel the invaders.

In the year 20XX, the JSDF has established a base of operations in the Tokyo area and has been successful in repelling the gate invaders. However, the JSDF is now facing a new challenge: a group of people from the other world have begun to settle in Tokyo, and the JSDF must find a way to coexist with them.
