Himouto! Umaru-chan

Himouto! Umaru-chan is a Japanese manga series by Sankaku Head. It was serialized in Shueisha’s seinen manga magazine Weekly Young Jump from 2013 to 2014, with its chapters collected in five tankōbon volumes. An anime television series adaptation by Doga Kobo aired from July to September 2015.

The story revolves around Umaru Doma, a high school girl who lives with her older brother Taihei. Umaru appears to be the perfect girl with good looks, intelligent, and is well-liked by her classmates and the teachers. However, at home, she reverts to her true self, a layabout who spends her time playing video games, watching anime, reading manga, and drinking cola. Taihei must then put up with his little sister’s antics.

Umaru is a high school girl who seems perfect in every way. She’s beautiful, smart, and popular. However, she has a secret: at home, she’s a total slob! She’s lazy, messy, and loves to eat junk food. Her brother, Taihei, does his best to take care of her, but it’s not easy.

One day, Umaru’s classmate, Ebina, comes over to her house. Taihei is out, so Umaru invites her in. Ebina is shocked by the state of Umaru’s room and how different she is at home. Umaru doesn’t want anyone to know her secret, so she asks Ebina to keep it to herself.

Ebina agrees, but she’s not sure she can keep the secret for long. Umaru is worried that her secret will be exposed, but she doesn’t want to change her ways. What will happen when the truth comes out?
