PROMARE

PROMARE is a 2019 Japanese animated science fiction action film produced by Trigger. The film is directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi, written by Kazuki Nakashima, and features character designs by Shigeto Koyama and Sushio. It premiered in Japan on May 24, 2019, and was released worldwide on September 27, 2019.

The film’s plot follows two men with opposing views: Galo Thymos, a member of the Burning Rescue Firefighting team who wants to eliminate all Burnish, and Lio Fotia, the leader of the insurgent group Mad Burnish. When a new threat known as the “Promare” appears, the two must put aside their differences to save the world.

The story of PROMARE is set in a future where a group of people with special abilities, called “Burnish”, are constantly persecuted. One day, a group of Burnish called “Mad Burnish” start a violent uprising, and the government sends in a special firefighting unit called “Burning Rescue” to put an end to it. However, when they meet face-to-face, the two sides realize that they are not as different as they thought.
